Financial support is provided through an inter-local agreement between the City of Omaha, Douglas County, and Sarpy County:

As the lead agency, the City of Omaha owns and operates the facility on behalf of the partnership. The City is responsible for all staffing, contracts and grant writing to support the facility. Day to day management is provided through the Environmental Quality Division of the Public Works Department.

Douglas County Environmental Services and Health Department have helped to plan and develop the program.

Sarpy County Environmental Services has helped to plan and develop the program.

Additional Support provided by:

Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District has helped to plan and develop the program and provides support in educating the public about household hazardous waste.

Keep Omaha Beautiful Inc. has helped to plan and develop the program and provides support in educating the public about household hazardous waste.

The Metropolitan Area Planning Agency was the lead agency during the early development of this program and continues to support the program as a conduit to regionalization.

Funding for the Facility provided by:

  • $375,000 – Nebraska Department of Water, Energy, and Environment Waste Reduction and Recycling Incentive †
  • $113,100 – City of Omaha
  • $113,100 – Douglas County
  • $113,100 – Sarpy County

Additional contributions have been received from:

  • Nebraska Environmental Trust Waste Management Grants
  • Nebraska Recycling Council Recycling Equipment Grants

†A grant for annual operations has been received from the Nebraska DWEE Waste Reduction and Recycling Incentive Fund. The amount is $375,000 annually pending fund availability.
